In Ocean Ridge, FL, designers Nina Grauer and Eleanor Trepte of DeKay & Tate loaded this home with vibrant colours, surprising designs, funky light fixtures and tons of texture. We requested Grauer and Trepte far more about the home and its influences.
What was the style inspiration for the job?
We preferred to generate a space that seriously captured the client’s temperament. She is a person who is very expressive, vibrant, artistic and enjoys everything that demonstrates that Mid-Century groovy tone. That is the very best variety of customer, isn’t it? Being ready to creatively convey yourself as a result of interior layout, getting snug with having threats and mixing color, texture, form is profoundly critical at DeKay & Tate. We are not normally “conventional,” but what artist is? Interior structure is our art kind.

What aims ended up you attempting to fulfill for the client?
We needed to generate a place that was practical, entertaining and most importantly portrayed her individuality via our design. This project took about 9 months because the customer required what she desired. Our objective is to carry the client’s eyesight to everyday living – irrespective of price range. We make it take place. The living place and kitchen area have been the optimum traffic spaces, therefore, we go for purposeful, even though bringing in mixed styles of fabrics, embroidered textiles, ceramic glazed furnishings, oddly formed side tables, and bold fixtures and shades.

What is your favorite component about the room?
I imagine the residing home speaks for alone. There is a fantastic collaboration involving warm and awesome hues. The wallpaper on the ceiling is what ties the house collectively just as properly as the coffee desk / ottoman, which was a customized piece. It just will work. Secondly, the grasp bedroom was created to be a calming space, which was executed pretty very well by working with very light-weight pinks, smooth fabrics, and heat lights.
